Backpack Diamond Drilling Solutions

As a highly portable and low-impact alternative to trenching, our backpack diamond drilling programs are ideal for near-surface rock investigation and core sampling. Engineered for efficiency in remote or challenging terrain, these lightweight systems help accelerate early-stage exploration while minimizing surface disturbance and regulatory hurdles.

EFU’s customized backpack drilling services are designed to fast-track your project with reliable data and quick turnaround—delivering the geological insights you need to move forward with confidence.

Low-Impact. High-Value. Rapid Results.

Why Choose Backpack Diamond Drilling?

Perfect for greenfields and inaccessible sites, our backpack diamond drill programs provide powerful capabilities in a compact form:

- Lightweight, man-portable diamond core drilling system
- Rapid penetration to depths of up to 5 m (16 ft); up to 10 m (32 ft) in ideal conditions
- 41 mm hole diameter (36 mm BQ core) or 25 mm hole diameter (15 mm core)
- Minimal environmental disturbance and reduced permitting requirements
- Effective alternative to trenching in remote or sensitive areas
- Drill through lacustrine clays to access bedrock-related soils
- Develop bedrock and overburden stratigraphy
- Test depth to bedrock and collect high-quality core samples
- Gather structural data, even in swampy or soft terrain
- Confirm continuity of mineralized veins

- Follow up on high-grade surface sample anomalies

BACKPACK DRILLING PROJECT EXAMPLES

SHORT-HOLE DRILL PROGRAM RESULTS IN THE FIRST ANOMALOUS, IN SITU VMS-STYLE MINERALIZATION DISCOVERED ON THE PROPERTY SINCE 1997

"The 2015 short-hole diamond drill program intercepted anomalous zinc, lead and copper with the final drillhole of the program providing an interval of 2,546 ppm Zn, 10 ppm Pb and 300ppm Cu over the length of the drillhole; 5.05m. This run included a single 0.19m interval of 1.88% Zn, 54 ppm Pb and 1,262.5 ppm Cu."

SHORT-HOLE DRILL INTERVAL OF 0.29 M OF 2.31% U3O8 A NEW DISCOVERY

"Short-hole drilling at the specific locations of anomalous spectrometer readings allowed for core sampling from the radioactive source at depth. A new mineralized area was discovered during the 2015 work program. The highest scintillometer reading returned was 11,057 cps in drill core."

LIGHTWEIGHT DRILL, HEAVY RESULTS: BACKPACK DIAMOND DRILLING HITS HIGH-GRADE GOLD ON MASTER VEIN

"The Phase 2 exploration program utilized pack-sack drilling along the Master Vein and parallel mineralized horizons. This phase was more aggressive and aimed to test the vein systems along strike and near surface using shallow drilling. A total of 15 holes were drilled ranging from 0.2 m to 1.9 m in depth."

Highlight backpack drill sample intervals from the Master Vein included:
68.7 g/t Au over 0.47 m
66.3 g/t Au over 0.2 m
29.7 g/t Au over 0.86 m
